Standard or Enterprise edition?

We offer two editions of our checkout module: Standard (€190) and Enterprise (€590). The main difference between the licenses is multiple domains, the free support, installation and lifetime updates that come with the Enterprise edition. The Standard edition is not a feature-stripped down version of the OneStepCheckout; it has all the same core features that the Enterprise checkout provides.

The philosophy behind this model is that Enterprise is for the larger Magento stores, that handle a large volume of transactions, and have a bigger need for support, installation, updates, and so on. That's why the Enterprise price includes free installation, free lifetime support, free lifetime updates, and priority on new features when requested. The Enterprise-edition also allows for use on multiple domains within the same installation, while the Standard-edition is limited to a single domain.

General product information

The OneStepCheckout is developed like any regular Magento extension and does not override any core classes or templates. The module is easy to install as you only need to upload three folders into your Magento root directory. The module will only add new files in the proper directories, and not overwrite any existing files.

The software package contains the following:

• Customization guide
• User manual which describes all settings and configuration options
• PSD file with graphical elements like buttons and icons

OneStepCheckout is thoroughly tested and compatible with Magento Community version 1.0 to 1.4, and also including Magento Enterprise version 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7. It utilizes the JavaScript library prototype which is already bundled with the Magento eCommerce platform. It also supports all the modern versions of Firefox, Opera, Chrome (including all Webkit browsers), Safari, and Internet Explorer versions 6, 7 and 8.

The source code is not encrypted in any way and you are free to make customizations and changes to both the backend code as well as the frontend code. By customizing the backend code, you can add new functionality as you desire, and it is possible to add/remove new attributes (for example "How did you hear about us") fairly simple, and much more.

The structure of the OneStepCheckout files is packaged following the Magento guidelines for developing extensions, which means that any Magento web developer will be familiar with the structure and should be able to find the template and CSS files that are used with ease. The same goes for the underlying backend code.
